10 years ago, the role-playing tabletop experience known as The One Ring was brought forth to the fans of Middle-earth. Since then, it has mustered great recognition and awards. Soon becoming an instant classic, the game is still played to this day. Its popularity has garnered the return of designers Francesco Nepitello and Marco Maggi to introduce the tabletop’s second edition.
The One Ring Forges a New Look
The tabletop’s creation is based on the fantasy works of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. Evidently, the ones focused here are The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit, or There and Back Again. Embarking deeper into the Twilight of the Third Age, the new edition is equipped with an upgraded hardbound volume. Players will find an improved variety of rules, which the creators thank in return for all of the feedback. Together with the game’s insane attention to detail and adventure, The One Ring has been redesigned to give it a fresh look. In light of the announcement, a teaser trailer was unveiled for the newest edition. Backed with that familiar Howard Shore sound, the trailer presents several illustrations of Middle-earth’s bravest warriors and the locations they visit.
More is to be revealed about the project when its Kickstarter campaign launches in two days (February 11). The One Ring‘s second edition will be released through Swedish company Free League Publishing. Their portfolio includes an array of award-winning games and books, from the official ALIEN tabletop and fantasy-retroland in Forbidden Lands to Simon Stålenhag’s thought-provoking and unique artbooks.
This is the Master-ring, the One Ring to rule them all.”
