The Outer Worlds (not to be confused with Outer Wilds) proves that other companies can match or go beyond what Bethesda is capable of with Fallout. The depth of worlds, branching narrative, and well-written characters all make for an exciting experience that’s fun adventuring through. That and, well, who doesn’t like shooting bad guys? I loved the game during my playthrough, even if it’s by no means perfect. With the love towards the title in mind, Obsidian Entertainment is introducing the first DLC for the game. The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. You can find today’s trailer below.
The Unreliable, The Outer Worlds’ main ship, discovers a severed arm and a mysterious message that leads them to the Gorgon asteroid. This asteroid is most famously known for being a massive research site in Halcyon, as well as one of the biggest disasters. There they meet the wealthy Minnie Ambrose, who tasks them with finding answers regarding Dr. Olivia Ambrose aboard the asteroid. What they find there though, may very well change the colony for years to come.
The asteroid is home to not only new locations to explore but also various enemies. As expected, you’re going to need some bigger and better tools for the job. One of the said weapons is the P.E.T. (Pet Extermination Tool), a melee weapon with special properties. If weapons aren’t what you fancy, then perhaps some new perks and a level increase is more your style? That’s not to even mention the new armor sets, sure to help in the fight against Gorgon’s creatures.
Peril on Gorgon brings some fresh gameplay to The Outer Worlds, and it has us very excited. For now, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this expansion pack.
