There’s been a lot going on lately, between some wild claims from the government, the hurricanes plowing through the Southern states, and now aliens? In a recent TikTok post from a big news publication, it seems that UAP “sightings are on the rise,” and people sure do have a whole lot to say about it. Between the claims that it’s all a distraction and the comments that detail how much we can’t wait to not have to pay bills during an alien invasion, it seems no matter how wild these sightings are, we simply don’t care.
On Friday, November 15th, ABC News took to TikTok to share some strange occurrences. The Pentagon has been receiving hundreds of reports of UAP, or Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, sightings and they’ve got something to say about it. The video goes on to explain that “Navy pilots have seen them,” and “More than 1,600 unidentified flying objects have been reviewed by the government’s Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO over the years, 98% of them eventually found to be debris, drones, or even large birds.“
The news seems to be underwhelming, considering that many have been identified as nothing more than the usual things we’d see in the sky. The reporter goes on to explain that over the course of just a month, however, there were over 700 new sightings, and some of them truly can’t be explained at all. Is there a chance that there are actually aliens hanging around our atmosphere? Who knows. What I do know, though, is that TikTok users definitely have something to say about it.
Right away, users started hopping into the comments claiming that these “alien” sightings are nothing but a way to keep us distracted from what’s really going on. “There’s a 2nd pandemic behind me, isn’t there?,” followed by another who says “I fear this is just a distraction for something……” The pattern continues with more comments of “All of a sudden the government wants us to know ? hmmmm…. i don’t buy it,” followed by “Distractions,” and “So what is the distraction for?” It seems these users think they see through whatever “act” this could be on the government’s part, but there’s also a whole different perspective being shown in the comments as well.
We all know paying bills is rough lately and having to work extra hours just to get by sucks, and these commenters know it. “I’m broke, I don’t care,” says the first comment on the video, along with “Are they trying to pay by bills no then I don’t care.” If there’s any truth to the situation and strange sightings, these TikTok users will probably be pretty happy to find out that they might not actually “have to go to work on Monday.”
