As HELLO! reports, Prince William visited his father, King Charles III, in Sandringham last weekend as His Majesty undergoes cancer treatment. In the midst of health concerns, The Princess of Wales recently underwent planned abdominal surgery and is reported recovering in their Norfolk home.
William, 41, and his wife Kate, 42, spent the half-term holiday break with their three children; Prince George, ten, Princess Charlotte, eight, and five-year-old Prince Louis.
King Charles III’s Cancer Diagnosis
King Charles III seems to be in good spirits, however, as he was spotted attending church with Queen Camilla on Sunday. The 75-year-old was diagnosed with cancer earlier this month after a routine examination for an enlarged prostate revealed more pressing concerns.
It is believed that William not only visited to monitor his father’s health, but also to discuss releasing a statement in relation to the Israel-Hamas war.
Right now, it is unknown what kind of cancer ails King Charles III, but his subordinates are working tirelessly to keep him in good standings. This development comes almost two years after the U.K. lost its longest-reigning monarch in Queen Elizabeth II as an unexpected illness befell her. She died in September 2022.
The Escalation of the Israel-Hamas War
Prince William issued a statement on Tuesday to recognise the human suffering caused by conflict in the Middle East.
In the passage, he wrote: “I remain deeply concerned about the terrible human cost of the conflict in the Middle East since the Hamas terrorist attack on 7 October. Too many have been killed.”
“I, like so many others, want to see an end to the fighting as soon as possible. There is a desperate need for increased humanitarian support to Gaza. It’s critical that aid gets in and the hostages are released.”
The official Instagram account for the Prince and Princess of Wales confirmed that William was conducting visits to “learn more about the human impact of the ongoing conflict” and understand how the British Red Cross was providing aid to those impacted by the war.
On October 7, raids by the Palestinian militant group Hamas killed around 1,200 people. The ensuing chaos resulted in around 250 taken hostage. As of current statistics, Hamas still retain around 130 hostages, but a quarter of them are believed to be dead.
Thus far, the ongoing war has killed at least 28,985 Palestinian. Right now, there are growing concerns for if Israeli forces move into Rafah, a major city in southern Gaza.
