The story of Supermassive Games’ latest interactive horror game, The Quarry, is shaped by the decisions you make during gameplay. Just like its predecessors, many of the characters will either live or die based on your choices. One of these characters is Dylan, who will have a few brushes with death over the course of the story. This guide will explain to players if and how they can save Dylan in The Quarry.

Can You Save Dylan In The Quarry?

The simple answer is yes, you can save Dylan in The Quarry, with there being two points in the game that will directly affect whether or not Dylan survives. The first time you will be able to save Dylan is in Chapter 5 while playing as Ryan. If you broke into one of the cabins while playing Chapter 1 as Abigail, Dylan will get bitten by a werewolf in this chapter. You will be given the choice of whether you want to cut off his hand to stop the infection. Make sure you choose the “Desperate” option when you are prompted after Dylan is bitten to cut off his hand to save his life. You will also get the Just a Flesh Wound Achievement.

The second and final time that Dylan can be killed is in the scrapyard in Chapter 9. You will be here with Kaitlyn, so this will explain how to make sure both characters survive. Dylan will make his way up into a crane to get a car down that the pair hope to use as an escape route. While up in the crane, a werewolf will attack Kaitlyn. Make sure you select the “Warn Kaitlyn” option to get her into the car. Dylan will raise the car with the werewolf on top of it. Select the “Sound the Horn” option to get the beast’s attention. The horn will bring the werewolf to Dylan, and you will need to complete a series of Quick Time Events to use a torch on the creature. The fire will get the creature to fall back to the ground. Complete another set of QTEs to drop the car on the werewolf. With all of this done, you will save Dylan and Kaitlyn in The Quarry.

The Quarry is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
