Britney Spears faces another setback in her relationship with her kids as insiders claim her sons only reached out to her for a specific reason. This comes as claims of the singer’s reunion with her two teenage children in Hawaii makes the rounds. The reports claimed that the crooner has secretly made trips to Hawaii to see her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline.
These reports also claimed the boys have been secretly communicating with their mom for months, and even made a trip down to California. However, before the implication of this reconciliation could sink in, insiders with direct knowledge have stepped forward to debunk it.
Speaking to Page Six, Kevin Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan revealed that the claim of a reconciliation between Britney Spears and her sons was untrue. In fact, the attorney established that the chances of a reunion happening were slim, as it would require a “complex process that takes some time.”
While the reports of a reunion are inaccurate, the attorney admitted Britney Spears’ sons made one phone call to her around Mother’s Day. Apart from that, they have maintained no form of communication, and last saw each other about three years ago. Stressing the point further, Mark shared,
“The phone call was a good sign and a step in the right direction, but it’s a process that takes more than just a phone call to accomplish.”
Mark Kaplan went on to reveal Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Ferderline’s take on his kids’ relationship with their mom. He explained that the 46-year-old always supported the possibility of reconciliation, and was glad when the boys finally reached out. Make no mistake though, as this first contact between Britney and her sons meant little compared to the hurdles left to scale before the kids deem themselves ready to embrace their mom again, if ever. A source told TMZ,
“Years of aberrant behavior and troubling conduct can’t be easily erased.” The source adds, “There’s no evidence things have gotten better.”
The two kids, aged 18 and 17 respectively, moved to Hawaii last year, with their dad Kevin Federline, and his wife Victoria Prince. Before the move, both Sean and Jayden had an estranged relationship with their mom, refusing to see her for years. A major reason behind the strained relationship was the boys becoming increasingly uncomfortable with having their mom share disturbing, or nude snaps on the gram. So far, there is no evidence anything has changed. With these underlying issues still lurking amid Britney’s regular meltdowns and compulsive social media posting, the chances of a reconciliation are even slimmer.
