THQ Nordic has announced another South Park game is on the way in the form of South Park: Snow Day!, which is set to release in 2024. Unlike the previous game entries in the South Park world, South Park: Snow Day! is going to be a co-op multiplayer game in 3D. This is a big departure from previous titles like South Park: The Fractured But Whole, which took place on a 2D plane in the vein of the show. The THQ Nordic showcase took place today where South Park: Snow Day! revealed its debut trailer.

What To Expect With South Park: Snow Day!

From the footage in the video reveal, South Park: Snow Day! looks to be changing genres completely from an RPG to what appears to be a co-op action game. The video shows a massive battlefield with kids slicing each other up in classic over-the-top South Park fashion. It says that it features co-op multiplayer, but it’s not confirmed to be multiplayer only, so it’s possible we get another full campaign-style title that features the ability to play with a friend.

South Park has become a surprisingly successful video game name, with titles like South Park: The Stick of Truth snatching up RPG of the year votes at one point. Its most recent console title, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, also did quite well critically and showed the franchise was to be taken seriously in the gaming world.

South Park is teaming up with Question Games this time around, who have yet to handle a large franchise like this one, but the early information and look for the game suggests we may be in for yet another memorable adventure in everyone’s favorite small town in Colorado.

There is no release date set for South Park: Snow Day!, but it is expected to release in 2024 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
