Call of Duty is no stranger to easter eggs. Remember the time we shot teddy bears on Der Reise, then got shot for not shooting them in Call of Duty 2? That’s an inside joke! Anyway, while there’s less going in across the Vondel map these days, Infinity Ward is still nodding its hat to the franchise lore. Recently in Warzone 2, players have spotted a jet flying across the map with a special message for players.
Warzone 2 Vondel Jet’s Message Revealed
Now, it’s worth noting that not many players have actually seen this jet flying over Vondel in Warzone 2, and even when you do it’s pretty hard to make out the message. I myself have seen the colors of the Dutch flag which protrude from the engine but missed the letter themselves… because I got shot trying to make them out! Thankfully, a Reddit user by the name of Niko_Starkiller has uploaded a post showing this mysterious Vondel easter egg.
As you can see, this jet is painting the C.O.D.E Bowl on the Dutch flag over Warzone 2‘s Vondel map. C.O.D.E stands for Call of Duty Endowment, which is a charity affiliated with Call of Duty. And the Dutch flag is for Vondel, obviously. Also, the Call of Duty Endowment X page has a recent post about this event, showcasing the RAF_Esports team that is about to compete in the CODE Bowl.
October 5 is the set date for the CODE Bowl that is being advertised right now in the Warzone 2 Vondel map. However, there are more Call of Duty related events on this day. Tomorrow on October 5, there’ll be the second Call of Duty Next event, revealing Modern Warfare 3 in-depth, and showcasing more info about Sledgehammer Games’ next Call of Duty entry.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is currently available to play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4,
