On TikTok, a Black nursing student in Kentucky is claiming that she was recently dismissed from her clinical program after a nurse she had been assigned to work night shifts with allegedly reported fabricated accusations about her to her clinical instructor.
According to the student, she and the nurse had worked together at an ICU unit in Edgewood and bonded very quickly. “She was really sweet and encouraging,” she said of the nurse. “Really chill [and had] nice vibes.” The student claimed she felt comfortable opening up about her career goals, relationships, finances, and even deeply personal topics because the nurse seemed encouraging and curious.
During one of their shifts, she reportedly told the nurse about how she had once terminated a pregnancy due to an abusive ex-partner. They also spoke about explicit topics, which she claims the nurse initiated.
More on What Happened
While they were conversing, the student claimed the nurse suddenly told her she liked her because she was “different from other people of color” and acted “proper.” Although the comment immediately rubbed her the wrong way, the student said she kept things cordial in the moment.
Shortly after their conversation, the nurse allegedly went to the student’s clinical instructor and reported her for misconduct, including engaging in inappropriate relationships with married men for money, terminating multiple pregnancies, and discussing explicit topics on the hospital floor. “She’s telling my clinical instructor these crazy, absurd things,” the student said. “She just took everything and told them everything that I pretty much didn’t say.”
The student alleged that the instructor never asked for her side of the story and instead escalated the claims immediately, referencing a prior complaint from another nurse who said she brought up “heated topics” at work. She said the combination of the two complaints was used as justification to dismiss her from the program entirely.
She also said administrators had already made up their minds before hearing her explanation during a disciplinary panel meeting. “The fact that [she] would pretend to be my friend, ask for my Instagram on the floor, ask all these personal questions, just to report me after — you don’t think that’s malicious and discriminatory?” she said. “I’m trying to plead my case as a Black woman that this is discriminatory, and they do not believe me.”
Video Update Sparks Further Controversy
Since the student name-dropped both the nurse and the hospital, netizens quickly identified the individual and shared her information in the comment section. Following that, the student later provided an update saying she had received a voicemail from someone identifying himself as a Kentucky law enforcement officer. The caller allegedly warned her to take down the TikTok videos or face potential charges.
However, the student said she did not believe the caller was actually law enforcement because when she called back, the person became confrontational, refused to hear her side, and ultimately blocked her after she declined to remove the posts.
As of now, the allegations made in the videos have not been independently verified, and the institutions or individuals named have not publicly responded to the claims circulating online.
Netizens Reaction to the Kentucky Student’s Claims
In the comments under her posts, many viewers felt she had put herself in that situation by oversharing in a professional setting. “You’re talking waay too much at work,” one person wrote. “Girly these nurses aren’t your friends,” another commenter said. “NEVER talk to other nurses about your personal business. Surface level communication only,” advised a third.
At the same time, others argued that if the allegations were false, the student could pursue legal options. “Get a lawyer because you can’t be dismissed without due process,” one netizen wrote, while another added, “If it has affected your work you can sue for defamation.”
