‘They Really Are Trying To Protect Him’: Olympics Audience Censored for Booing JD Vance, ‘The Whole World Saw It’

Even outside his own country, people still boo him

When someone’s the right-hand man of one of the most hated men on the planet, they should most certainly be prepared to not receive the warmest of welcomes wherever they go. US Vice President JD Vance traveled all the way to Italy to attend the Winter Olympics, and when he showed up on camera, he was not greeted happily by the crowd. In fact, the audience present expressed their hostility against the right-wing American politician by booing him. The booing was so loud, in fact, that many media outlets tried to censor it out, so viewers wouldn’t know he’s actually hated on a global scale.

Unfortunately for those trying to censor the audience, however, one official commentator for CBC blatantly says on live TV, “Lotta boos for him.” Whether people can hear it or not, the truth is out, not to mention there were outlets that didn’t censor the booing, which caused clips to circulate the internet. This happened even after the International Olympic Committee begged fans not to boo JD Vance during the opening ceremony, according to Town and Country. The voice of the people never fails to be heard, it would seem.

“They really are trying to protect him,” says one commenter on X. “The whole world saw it. The Internet is forever,” says another, responding to how social media platforms are now taking down some of the clips of JD Vance getting booed. “How deep does the Trump corruption run?” questioned a third. Some MAGA supporters chimed in, trying to point out that Kamala Harris had been publicly booed as well while she was campaigning. However, these commenters forget that that took place within the US, not in a different country.

“He shouldn’t have gone. Trump knows he would get booed at the Super Bowl so he backed out,” remarks a Redditor. “See MAGA, the whole world thinks you guys suck,” exclaimed another. “I thought they asked nicely for the fans to not do that though 👉🥺👈,” joked a third. In the end, what happened happened, and the whole world knows about it, whether it’s censored or not. That said, JD Vance does seem to be on a booing streak these days wherever he goes, so this one in Italy at the Winter Olympics is certainly the most spectacular one yet.

The Vice President getting booed by the crowd isn’t the only politically charged thing that occurred at the opening ceremony. Two American freestyle skiers were also called out for publicly stating they weren’t proud of what’s going on in the US at the moment. It would seem it’s impossible for anyone to escape politics during the Olympics with how controversially heated things have gotten, no small thanks to the Trump administration.
