While some people are looking out for some good January sales to bring new appliances and items home, others are lurking in the dark, trying to steal said objects for themselves. In a recent video shared on Reddit, we can see a thief approaching a home’s porch and stealing what seems to be a TV. Little did he know that the object he stole was damaged, however, making this winter heist a failure. Even if the thief didn’t get anything of value, it’s sad to see that any home can be a victim of this type of crime.
Shared by MintedVibez on Reddit on the r/funny subreddit, we can see a man approaching a home and carrying away a large box. According to the annotation on the video, the thief arrived to steal an old and damaged TV. It would seem that it was an intended strategy all along. It’s uncertain if the thief brought the damaged TV back, but if he didn’t, he at least helped the house owner clean his porch.
Naturally, many people had opinions about this event, making fun of the fact that the thief stole a broken object.
The above piece of wisdom fits perfectly. Or rather, one man’s trash is another man’s trash — in this situation, anyway. Other users started suggesting ways to surprise the thief.
In truth, leaving something inside like confetti or glitter would’ve been the cherry on top. It would’ve been great to see the thief’s reaction as he opens the box to find a broken TV, but well, we imagine he’ll think twice now before stealing.
While nothing truly bad happened in the end, it’s pretty shocking to see thieves running rampant and stealing without remorse. We’re aware that crime will always be an ongoing issue, but it’s worrying that this happened so quickly. Fortunately, the house owner had a plan up their sleeve, and we only hope that the thief never returns again to bother this family.
