A theft incident at a Maryland apartment building is going viral on TikTok after a woman caught her neighbor on camera stealing her food delivery. And honestly, the whole situation has people wondering how bold someone has to be to pull something like this.
The woman said it happened around 11:30 p.m. on a Wednesday night after she had ordered food through Uber Eats and had it delivered to her front door. What she didn’t expect was for someone in her own building to come down and help themselves to it.
In the footage that she released, a man can be seen quietly coming down the stairs from an upper floor. He moves carefully at first, almost like he’s trying not to be noticed, then pauses near her door just out of full view. Seconds later, he bends down, grabs the bag of food, and quickly rushes back up the stairs as if nothing had happened.
At Least He Didn’t Take Everything
What made the situation even more bizarre was what he didn’t take. According to the woman, the man only grabbed the food, which was five chicken tenders, and left the drink behind.“His big back [expletive] didn’t get the drink. He wanted the food,” she said in one video, clearly frustrated. “He couldn’t grab both. He had to move quickly.”
She also believes the whole thing wasn’t random. From her perspective, the neighbor’s girlfriend had come home just a minute earlier and likely saw the food sitting outside. Not long after, the man came down, which made her think the two of them may have been working together.
The woman said she ended up calling the police, who came to her apartment in the early hours of Thursday morning. She claims officers were so surprised by what they saw that they had to replay the footage multiple times. When they went to speak with the neighbor, the girlfriend allegedly denied everything and even told police she didn’t know the man, claiming it was just her and her kids living there.
