Being a car mechanic has a fair share of risks when working with vehicles, but one Michigan trainee could never have expected the dangers would come from the cars’ owners themselves. Going by Jayshand on Reddit, this new mechanic says it was his second day on the job, right after getting his permit, when a truck driver came barreling into the auto shop.
“Idiots stupid idiots,” Jayshand sighed angrily in his post. “[The] owner of the f150 had no brakes.“ This truck driver apparently told the auto shop this fact when he called staff earlier, but no one could have expected he could come crashing into the building without warning. What happened next was quite harrowing, leaving over 15K Redditors stunned.
The Michigan Truck Driver Allegedly Drove into the Auto Shop Even Though His Vehicle Was Missing Brakes
“Me and [my] brother were finishing a trans repair on the Grand Cherokee and this [expletive] comes flying into the bay, hitting both me and my brother and we flew about 10 to 12 feet into the tool cabinet,” Jayshand recalled. Thankfully, the two weren’t severely injured, as OP claims he and his brother were lucky, though the accident did force them to rest until they’re able to work again.
“The truck was impounded not sure if the driver went to jail… he should imo , some people are just idiots,” Jayshand said, the frustration in his tone clear. “I worked for twenty-five years in shops, and I’ve never seen anything like that,” remarked a Redditor. “I just don’t believe anyone could be as stupid as the F-150 guy. Why was he even moving his truck out of the parking lot?” questioned a second user.
“10000% get a lawyer. This happened to me, didn’t think I’d get squat out of it. I got six figures,” suggested another. “The idiots – they’re out there. They drive…and they vote,” said a fourth.
While Jayshand hasn’t updated the situation on whether he would take legal action against the Michigan truck driver, there’s no doubt that he’ll be paranoid anytime someone calls in for repairs for a questionably drivable vehicle. “I’m still a bit shook up from this,” OP concluded.
