It’s beginning to look a lot like Sales-mas! With the holidays already in full effect, shoppers everywhere are frantically searching through their favorite stores for savings and last minute gifts. But there’s no need to panic if you’re looking to buy some digital stocking stuffers! This week’s PC and mobile gaming sales deliver on 2016’s most popular video games, and even some classic hits.

Square Enix fans will be happy to hear that their favorite RPGs are now playable on mobile devices. What’s even better is the announcement of a sale for these games. Launching today and lasting through January 4th, fans can find discounts of up to 50% off on titles from Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana and various entries in the Final Fantasy series. This sale is available on the iOS AppStore, Google Play Store and Amazon Appstore.

Though 2016 was a rough year for many, GOG.com wants to end the year on a high note with a sale. Headlining the GoodBuy 2016 Sale is GOG.com’s “10 Good Buys of 2016”, which features this year’s top games.

  • INSIDE – 10/10, IGN
  • Owlboy – 10/10, Destructoid
  • Stardew Valley – 5/5,  Giant Bomb
  • Grim Dawn – 83/100,  PC Gamer
  • Darkest Dungeon – 9.25/10, Game Informer
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine – 5/5, The Escapist
  • Day of the Tentacle Remastered – 4.5/5, PCWorld
  • Obduction – 9/10, Destructoid
  • Starbound – 9.1/10, IGN
  • Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun – RPS Recommended, Rock, Paper, Shotgun

Of course, shoppers can also find massive discounts on other classic and acclaimed games, like Fallout 1, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and Star Wars: Battlefront II. The GoodBuy 2016 Sale begins on December 23rd and ends on December 28th.

It wouldn’t be winter without a sale on Steam. Following an announcement on Twitter, PayPal has revealed a Steam Winter Sale launch date. Beginning December 22nd, gamers can prepare their wallets for daily discounts. This year’s Steam Winter Sale begins on the same day as voting for the Steam Awards. This event will let the Steam community cast daily votes for games in a number of categories. Awards include “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug”, “I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award”, and “Game Within A Game Award”.

A fanatic of all things human, Steven spends an alarming amount of time researching untrue facts. Did you know that the Trojan horse was nicknamed “Tro-jo”? Just like you, he loves video games, movies, “the telly”, and all sorts of wacky thingamajigs. Though writing about games is his current side hustle, Steven hopes to create an impacting journalism career by turning his thoughts into words, sounds, and images.
