Tilda Swinton’s COVID Is Not Restricting Her From Going Against The Rules
Tilda Swinton’s COVID did not slow her down from taking movie roles. But during her keynote address at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, the 62-year-old talked about how she is defying film restrictions.
Swinton started by sharing how happy it felt to not be surrounded by people with masked faces before teasing the audience, saying:
“Look at you. I bet none of you are wearing masks, as well. I mean, who knew that was going to be possible?”
The actress recalled that in Texas, even with the COVID protocols, people did not mask up as much. She then jokingly added that the world was too big and “people do things differently.”
When it was time to talk about Tilda Swinton’s film sets, the film veteran mentioned that she recently began filming in Ireland.
They asked the Grammy nominee to mask up as part of the COVID regulations but she refused. Swinton claimed she was “super healthy,” and had built antibodies to the disease through the years.
In no small way, she showed her excitement seeing people without masks. But amid the dangers of COVID, Tidal Swinton felt it ushered in a new dawn.
At a time when people thought the theaters were up for extinction, they began to grave time in the big hall, behind the grand screen.
She added:
“The one good thing about the pandemic, that it was making the people naysay the people who said that theaters were on the way out.”
Apart from saying things as she sees them, Tilda Swinton truly loves going against rules— unapologetically not just COVID’s. At 62, she chooses peculiar fashion styles and runs with them.
In January, while attending the Paris Fashion Week, she walked in, donning a sequined long-sleeve top with a charcoal base, high neck, and large-sized buttons.
This coordinated perfectly with the oversized pants, comfortable heels, and a purse hanging down her shoulders.
Swinton, who opted for a natural makeup day, adding a mild blush and pink matte lipstick, allowed her pixie cut to frame one side of her face, while some strands were in spikes.
