The TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge roster just got a little bigger. A playable April O’Neil has been announced to be a part of the latest TMNT title, included with a slice of gameplay in the latest Gamescom trailer.
A Closer Look at a Playable April O’Neil
As a reporter, April O’Neil is a jack of all trades. This is evidently shown with her diverse moveset. Her kicks are powerful enough to launch herself and her opponents in the air. She also has a slide kick that can take out multiple enemies. Beyond that, she also has items at her disposal. With her microphone in hand, she can use it as a weapon to bash the heads of ninjas. April can even drop the mic onto enemies to shock them. That alone makes her a must-play character.
But what’s a reporter without a camera? Luckily for April, she has one ready to fight crime with. Spinning around with it, she can take out a horde of enemies. April is also a team player, however. In the trailer, we see her and Leonardo do a double-team move. He throws her, and she acts as a bowling ball, knocking down opponents. Not only that, but we see her reviving a turtle using the power of pizza.
The Latest Details
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is a beat ’em up game coming in 2022. An homage to previous TMNT games, Shredder’s Revenge features retro pixel art. The gameplay will follow the four TMNT turtles (and April) as they fight against Shredder and his clan. They won’t be the only enemies the turtles encounter along the way. Other prominent enemies will be Kang, Bepop, and Rocksteady. The game is being published by Dotemu, who has a history with beat ’em ups. They released Streets of Rage 4 last year.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge won’t be out for quite some time, but that won’t stop us from getting hyped about the game and characters like April O’Neil though. For more gaming stories, check out How to Save Your Game in Psychonauts 2 and Splitgate Update 1.06 Patch Notes.
