As the first day of Jump Festa ’22 comes to a close, fans awaiting Tokyo Revengers season 2 have finally got good news. Earlier this month, rumors of the upcoming season already being in development began to surface. This came from a recent article from Yahoo News Japan that revealed that the series was already in production. However, studio Liden Films had not said anything about the prospects of a season 2.
According to the official announcement, Tokyo Revengers season 2 will adapt the Christmas Showdown arc from the manga. This arc features the long-awaited battle between the Tokyo Manji gang and the 10th Generation of Black Dragons.
The Rise to Tokyo Revengers Season 2
The first season of the highly acclaimed series first aired in April 2021. Following its September final episode, fans have been left with more questions than answers regarding their favorite characters. However, this upcoming season might be able to give them the closure that they need until they can get their hands on the manga. The story to Tokyo Revengers is described as,
Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagakii learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school has died. The oonly girlfriend he had was killed by a villanous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six0years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days. To save his girlfriend Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!”
Currently, Kodansha is publishing the manga digitally in English. At the same time, Seven Seas Entertainment is in the process of publishing a 2-in-one omnibus paperback edition that will be available for purchase in May 2022.
Despite all of this, there is no exact release date for Tokyo Revengers season 2. While nothing else is known at the time, the official website confirms that more information will be released soon.
