The Top Gun star has reportedly dropped some major cash to purchase a lavish apartment in London, as he now “considers himself” a member of the beloved city. Although the actor may have needed a place to stay while he’s in the UK, he’s also said to be looking to impress his new love interest, Victoria Canal.
Radar Online reports that Tom Cruise has been spending more than $400,000 a week to rent in London. Meanwhile, he’s opted for a penthouse near Buckingham Palace. Cruise has become neighbors with King Charles and the royal family. However, it seems he’s more interested in what Victoria Canal may think of his new home.
Tom Cruise Solidifies His Relationship with London
“Tom has been living in London basically full-time for the last few years due to his filming schedule. He’s been spending so much time in the city and was spending so much on renting his penthouse he finally decided it was time to buy,” an insider dished.
“He now considers himself semi-English, and a lot of his pals are saying it’s no coincidence his penthouse purchase comes as he gets closer to Victoria.”
Cruise is reportedly smitten with Canal, whom he met at Glastonbury Festival. The couple is said to be spending “more and more time together,” and the actor “practically worships” the actress.
The Mission: Impossible star is reportedly in awe of Canal’s ability to overcome her disability, as Canal was born without her right arm. She’s said to have won over Cruise with her “tenacity and talent” as she plays the piano and guitar.
It remains to be seen if Tom Cruise will make his new London home his permanent residence. However, if things with Victoria Canal heat up, the actor may opt to spend most of his free time in the UK.
