Tom Cruise is known for presenting his closest friends and associates with memorable gifts. In the past, the Top Gun star’s favorite go-to gift was his popular coconut cake. However, recently the actor has switched up his gift-giving game and now opts for a more controversial gift.
Actor Tom Cruise often leans toward the more bizarre when sending out gifts to his pals. Gone is the day when his A-List friends would receive a tasty treat from Cruise. Instead, Tom has devised a new way to seemingly educate and push the Church of Scientology on his unexpecting pals.

Cruise is very committed and passionate about his religious beliefs. So, in hopes of spreading the word and gaining recruits for the Church of Scientology, Tom has added a new approach.
Radar Online reports that the recipients of Tom’s affection now receive a high-gloss plaque featuring the 20 Tenets of Scientology. The plaque is printed in metallic gold script, mounted with museum-style precision, and engraved with the actor’s initials.
The Scientology plaque gift is described as Tom Cruise’s version of roses. One anonymous studio assistant dishes, “It arrives in a velvet-lined box. No note. Just the tenets. Under plexi. We opened it and just… stared. It was like receiving the Constitution, but cultier.”
Tom Cruise Pals Prefer Being On The Cake List
Cruise insiders claim Tom Cruise enjoys sending out the bizarre Scientology-related gifts. He considers the plaque a “piece of his truth,” and believes it is “more eternal than flowers.”
The actor is reported to have a specific list of friends to whom he generously enjoys sending gifts. However, it seems that most of Tom’s circle prefers to be on what is known around Hollywood as ‘The Cake List’ instead.

The cake tradition reportedly began when Tom Cruise was married to Dawson’s Creek star Katie Holmes. The $126 cake became a tradition, especially around Christmas, and was sent to only specific stars.
Twisters star Glen Powell previously gushed that he became one of the lucky cake recipients while working with Tom on Top Gun: Maverick. Powell claims the cake was such a huge hit that he now hosts a holiday party he deems his Cruise Cake Party every year where he serves the cake.
Tom may discover that his change from the tasty, sweet signature gift to a more serious and Church of Scientology-themed gift may not be quite as popular among his friends. “You can’t eat it, you can’t smell it, but he believes it saves lives… It’s very Tom,” states one publicist.
Tom Cruise is reportedly all about sending bizarre gifts. However, it looks as if some may not be quite as enthusiastic about receiving Cruise gift deliveries as they have in the past.
