King Charles’ coronation is not happening until May, but Tom Cruise, a good friend of the royals, is clearing up his calendar and may delay the new “Mission Impossible” for the grand event. Reportedly, Cruise has always had a soft spot for the royals. Last year it was believed that he nurtured a friendship with the Queen before her passing.
Their friendship was glaring at the Queen’s Platinum jubilee where he introduced the horse-themed event, “A Gallop Through History.” Beforehand, he told English presenters Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham about his love for the Queen, he said:
“She’s a woman I greatly admire. She has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion. What she has accomplished has been historic.”
It has been months after her death and Cruise is still close to the royal family. In fact, he has already planned for King Charles’ coronation.
Tom Cruise Delays Mission Impossible For King Charles’ Coronation
King Charles‘ coronation is set to be held in Westminster Abbey, on May 6, 2022. Following his mother, Queen Elizabeth’s death in September, he immediately ascended the throne as the ruler.
However, tradition states that the country will continue to mourn, hence, King Charles’ official coronation has been slated for the future. One of the invitees on this list is the “Mission Impossible” star. But while the American celebrity will be attending, he has shocked fans.
Tom Cruise has asked producers of the “Mission Impossible” franchise to hold off while he honors the invitation to King Charles’ coronation. Sources affirmed that he would never dream of turning down the invitation adding that “It is a hugely prestigious event,” and Cruise “is now close with Prince William and Kate.”
Truly, the actor has been in the company of the Prince and Princess of Wales and has expressed his likeness for them. Cruise mentioned that he shares a lot in common with William. In his words, “We both love England and we’re both aviators, we both love flying.”
A few weeks before this statement, he invited the future king and Queen to a sneak peek preview of “Top Gun: Maverick” at the Leicester Square theater.
