Skateboarding games are back! Gamers were shocked when EA announced the return on the beloved Skate franchise. Earlier this summer a breakout hit, Skater XL, launched with well-earned fanfare. However, both series pale in comparison to the Big Daddy of skating video games – Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. The Tony Hawk franchise introduced many young gamers, like myself, to the world of skateboarding. And it just so happens that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 is set to arrive in less than a week.

The second coming of the influential franchise was announced back in May. Its reveal shocked the gaming industry and set off the summer of skateboarding video game news. The remastered versions of the first two Tony Hawk games released a short supply of demo codes a few weeks back. Those fortunate enough to test-run the game were consistent across the board in their analysis. The game felt awesome.

Decks, Bearings, and Music

One of the most nostalgic factors when remembering the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games is the soundtrack. Tony Hawk introduced many young players to the sounds of Lagwagon, Naughty By Nature, Rage Against the Machine, and, of course, Goldfinger. Players will be rejoiced to know that the iconic soundtrack is back. It’s not just back, it’s better.

It isn’t just the classic sounds and songs that are returning. The team at Vicarious Visions has included a plethora of new tracks from top tier artists to join the ride. Some of the newly added artists include Machine Gun Kelly, A Tribe Called Quest, and Less Than Jake. For the full soundtrack, you can check out the game’s Spotify playlist here.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 Arrives in a Week

The remastered version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is scheduled to release on September 4. The classics will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, Nintendo Switch controller schematics were found among the demo’s files. So, don’t give up on hoping Switch fans!
