A German tourist did not have a good time at a New York taco joint, Los Tacos No. 1, after eating too much spicy sauce. The tourist has filed a lawsuit against the restaurant, claiming the green salsa “was too spicy” and caused various health problems. These include “mouth sores and a lot of pain.” However, Los Tacos shouldn’t feel too bad, as the tourist also sued a Walmart for discrimination after he was unable to access their WiFi.

The tourist claims that he “suffered severe injuries” after eating at the New York establishment. These allegedly occurred after he ate their green salsa. However, it has been reported that the tourist willingly “put a lot of the green salsa on the tacos.” The tourist claims he immediately contacted his wife, telling her, “There’s a problem with the sauce.” and alleges that “his tongue burned, his face turned red, and his heart rate soared.” Additionally, he says that these symptoms lasted for days.

The accusation has been scrutinized by New York locals, who find it “ridiculous.” One TikToker states that the “green salsa at Los Tacos is not spicy.” She also states that “the condiment is extra.” Choosing to eat so much makes her wonder, “Why would you scoop a lot of a condiment on when you can’t handle spice?” Meanwhile, a journalist has ordered the same tacos as the tourist and insists, “The salsa just wasn’t that spicy.”

Support For The New York Taco Place

Others in the comments agreed, with one saying, “100% bet that salsa was very mild.” Another says, “user error.” Others are skeptical that the salsa is too hot, given that the place is in New York, saying, “I know it can’t even be spicy.” Many find the lawsuit absurd, saying, “Restaurants are going to have to put disclaimers about spicy food now.” One commenter wants it known, “Los Tacos #1 is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to.” Another is baffled how this happened: “But I went there and don’t you put the salsa on your own tacos?”

Many are saying it’s the tourist’s own fault. The New York TikToker states, “By the time you’re an adult, you know if you can handle spice or not.” Additionally, she adds that in Mexico City, people are changing salsa recipes “because they can’t handle the spice level of Mexican food.” She recommends, “If you can’t handle spice, just don’t use the salsa.” She asks, “Don’t ruin it for all of us, okay?” Several share her opinion, with one commenter adding, “If they can’t handle it, that’s their problem. Just don’t use the salsa.” Another comment reads, “Please don’t order these foods if you can’t handle the spice level.” One commenter gives a suggestion: “I always taste salsa with a chip before adding it to my taco.” Another says, “No way he’s able to prove injury for an OPTIONAL condiment.”
