In Cyberpunk 2077, the katana is perhaps the most popular weapon due to its hit-and-run mechanics and effectiveness in combat. Luckily, the game has a fairly large selection of this type of weapon, so you can easily find or buy a blade to suit your playstyle. If you don’t know which one to choose, we’ll help you with our list of the 5 best katanas in Cyberpunk 2077 (2.0). Each katana in this list is unique and has a chance to deal additional bleeding, shock, and burn damage.
5. Tsumetogi
Tsumetogi is both a powerful and stylish katana. This level 5 iconic weapon will make you a real bounty hunter if you use it skillfully. Here are the main bonuses:
- Armor Penetration: +25%.
- Shock Chance: +25%.
In addition, it is also worth noting that the perk of this weapon further increases the electrical damage and the chance to apply Shock. You can also increase the damage by using non-standard attacks.
You can get it during the Pisces quest. When you are in the room where the Tyger Claws boss and Maiko meet, you can pick it up from the table after the conversation ends.
4. Cocktail Stick
At first glance, this weapon may look a bit weird, as it resembles a toy, but in fact, this is one of the deadliest katanas in the game. This is a great stealth weapon that will help you in many difficult situations. Here are the main bonuses of this weapon:
- Armor Penetration: +25%.
- Bleeding Chance: +25%.
The main highlight is that if you use Optical Camo, then while it is active, you are guaranteed to cause bleeding from the enemy you hit, and much longer than usual.
You can get this weapon during the Automatic Love mission. All you need to do is carefully explore the area and find the make-up room when you are in the Clouds club. The katana will be on the table under the neon sign “Bliss.”
3. Satori
Satori stands out from the rest on this list because, with this katana, you can jump on enemies from a long distance to kill them or use Quickdraw to make them bleed. If the enemy is bleeding from Nehan, you can cause additional bleeding, which will drain the enemy’s health and restore yours. Besides this, it features the following:
- Armor Penetration: +25%.
- Bleeding Chance: +17%.
And that’s just the beginning because, with this katana, you can jump on enemies from a long distance to kill them or use Quickdraw to make them bleed. If the enemy is bleeding from Nehan, you can cause additional bleeding, which will drain the enemy’s health and restore yours.
You can get this katana in the car on the AV landing pad, which you can access during The Heist mission. Wait for T-Bug to open the balcony door when you’re in the penthouse, and then you can proceed to the right location.
2. Errata Thermal Katana
An incredible katana that became available to players with the release of Phantom Liberty. Its features include not only an unusual look but also a number of useful bonuses that will help you in battle, namely:
- Armor Penetration: +25%.
- Burn Chance: +30%.
At first, it may not seem so cool but don’t rush with the conclusions because we haven’t yet mentioned the perk that allows you to deal critical damage to enemies on fire. This way, you get almost infinite critical damage for your attacks if the burning chance succeeds.
It’s not hard to get; it is in a furnace in the Electric Corporation building. Head to the Republic East service point and find the right building. After exploring it carefully, you’ll reach Sector 2, which will have a locked double door. When you open them, you’ll immediately see a katana on the furnace, and you can take it.
1. Scalpel
Another powerful katana you might like is the Scalpel. This iconic Tier 5 weapon is suitable for both beginners and experienced players, as its effects are easy to learn, and over time you can use them so well that any battle will not be a problem for you. Here are the main effects:
- Armor Penetration: +25%.
- Shock Chance: +30%.
It’s also worth mentioning the perk of this weapon that makes it so powerful. In addition to the increased electrical damage, while Sandevistan is active, the chance of a critical hit increases by 50%, and the hits apply bleeding. Thus, by simply slowing down time, you can feel like a real samurai and cut through all the surrounding enemies in a few seconds by electrocuting them.
You can get it as a reward for completing the Big in Japan quest. The mission is not difficult, you just need to deliver the package while fighting off Tyger Claws. After completing the mission, you will receive this iconic weapon.
