This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Los Santos is a big city to cover, but that’s not a problem if you have the fastest car in GTA 5. Well, at least not a problem for the Story Mode since there aren’t many 20-year-olds masquerading as 10-year-olds blowing up your sweet ride every five minutes or so, unlike in GTA Online.

So whether you’re Michael, Trevor, or Franklin in the GTA 5 Story Mode, you might want to stash these following rides in your garage. For this list of the fastest cars in GTA 5 Story Mode, we’re ranking them from worst to best.

Pegassi Monroe is an Affordable Fastest Car in GTA 5

(Updated on August 14, 2024 – updated links and format)

Top Speed – 122.00 mph (196.34 km/h)

It’s not like you need an excuse to grab a Lamborghini Miura knock-off in GTA 5, but the Pegasi Monroe adds even more alluring reasons to the pile. There are other cars with the same top speed, but the Pegassi Monroe has the clear advantage of being more affordable.

The recessed headlights and the oversized hood ought to make your vintage sensibilities tingle. Sadly, like most vintage-looking supercars in GTA 5, this will set you back a bit. The Pegassi Monroe retails for $490,000 though it’s easy to purchase through the in-game internet once you have the funds.

Progen T20

Top Speed – 122.25 mph (196.74 km/h)

Aptly nicknamed just the “T20,” this supercar is once again inspired by another real-life supercar, the McLaren P1. That explains the rather futuristic Euro look. Guess what? The doors also swing upwards, just like their real-world counterpart.

Like most supercars here, the T20 is also just a 2-seater (not the best for drive-by firepower, sadly); but there’s no need to entangle yourself in that kind of violence when you can just zoom past everyone, all for the price of $2,200,000.

Truffade Adder

Top Speed – 124.75 mph (200.77 km/h)

Consider the Truffade Adder as the Frankenstein’s monster of Euro-supercars in GTA 5 Story Mode. It’s a mix of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, with some borrowed body profiles from Audis, Aston Martins, and the Saturn Curve concept car in real life.

Funny enough, it’s slightly faster than the Progen T20 for less than half the price ($1,000,000) so if you’re way too concerned about budget in GTA 5, you might want to lean towards this one. With that said, the Pegassi Monroe is still the more practical option if you only care about speed and savings.

Truffade Z-Type is the 2nd Fastest Car in GTA 5

Top Speed – 126.25 mph (203.18 km/h)

For the second fastest car in GTA 5 Story Mode, we have a bit of a dark horse here. The Truffade Z-Type is based on the Bugatti Type 57 which had a production run from 1934 to 1940, putting it way beyond vintage– this is a progenitor car now, nearly a century-old-model.

Of course, GTA 5 found a way to immortalize this Triassic-period car by making the top speed impressive. If you thought that speed was jaw-dropping, wait until you see its price; for only $10,000,000, you get to be the fastest gentleman in Los Santos. Don’t forget the Ponsonby’s suit.

Top Speed – 126.50 mph (203.58 km/h)

Pronounced as “Pisswasser” which is in the true spirit of GTA 5 wordplay satire, the Vapid Pißwasser Dominator variant of the Pißwasser Dominator is the fastest car in GTA 5 Story Mode. It’s also based on the contemporary Ford Mustang, which is by no means the fastest supercar in the real world.

Still, this tribute to the straightest highways of America also embodies its own brand of bald-headed, eagle-beaked freedom– if you’re good enough. The Vapid Pißwasser Dominator is a free car– as long as you win the 3rd Stock Car Race.
