After battling against the horrific enemies of GTFO, you’ll eventually need a weapon you can count on. From Rundown to Rundown, these weapons differ, which meant that when the Rundown ended, the weapons disappeared. However, with the introduction of GTFO: Final Edition, you’ll be able to play through previous Rundowns. Now, all of your favorite weapons are usable again. With that, let’s take a look at the top 10 best weapons in GTFO by rank.
10. Hanaway PSB Double Tap Rifle
The Double-Tap Rifle focuses on precise shots with the third-highest damage per bullet and precision multiplier among the main weapons. It fires in bursts of two, making it dangerous against Shooters and Strikers with one and two bursts, respectively. Try aiming slightly below a Striker’s head for the first burst, allowing recoil to secure the second bullet’s headshot. This proves efficient, especially against crawling Strikers, making it pretty ammo-efficient with accurate aiming.
9. Buckland SBS III Sawed-Off Shotgun
The Sawed-off Shotgun now has a four-shell magazine since Rundown 8.0, as opposed to the previous two. While having a small magazine and low max ammo, it compensates with the ability to one-shot Strikers, Shooters, and Chargers. It also offers the fastest kill time for main weapons in GTFO against a bunch of enemies coming at you one after another. Despite a lack of ammo compared to other main weapons, its high damage and guaranteed one-shot capability at close range make it valuable in specific situations. It also sprays bullets pretty widely, so we tended to take advantage of that.
8. Mastaba R66 Revolver
The Mastaba R66 is a potent six-shot revolver with high damage and scoped accuracy, perfect for more precise shots. Effective against small to medium sleepers, it can one-shot Strikers and Shooters if aimed at the head. The flashlight can be a drawback in dark areas, limiting its real usage in the game’s dim environment. The revolver does lack burst damage, making it less effective against larger sleeper variants due to low hip-fire accuracy and high recoil.
7. Accrat Golok DA Bullpup Rifle
The Bullpup rifle, introduced in Rundown 003, serves as an alternative to the Malatack LX Assault Rifle. It offers a larger magazine and ammo capacity, improved hip-fire accuracy, and slightly lower recoil. Despite a longer reload time, its range makes it effective against smaller enemies. We felt that strategic reload management was crucial, and the rifle’s performance relies a lot on landing headshots.
6. Koning PR 11 Sniper
The PR 11 excels at one-shotting certain enemies at long-range with headshots. We found that it’s particularly effective against Scouts, Big Strikers, Big Shooters, and Hybrids. With the highest precision multiplier and significant damage per bullet, precision shots are crucial, and it excels at quickly eliminating larger enemies. It does have a small magazine and limited ammo, making it less efficient against crowds. We advise that you pair it with a high-capacity balanced main weapon for better crowd control. Tip: Waiting for larger enemies’ attack animations can enhance shot accuracy in situations with scarce ammo.
5. Buckland S870 Shotgun
The Buckland S870 Shotgun is a pump-action special weapon. With an eight-round internal tubular magazine and high damage, it’s ideal for hip-fire while on the move. Aiming enhances accuracy, making it effective against Strikers or Shooters in one shot, though its ammo capacity is relatively low. Equipped with a reflex sight and short-range flashlight, we thought that it was particularly useful in dangerously close-range encounters.
4. TR22 Hanaway DMR
The TR22 excels in precision support for long-range engagements but we felt struggled with close to medium encounters. With high damage and a medium precision multiplier, it’s effective against small enemies but faces challenges against tougher foes, requiring multiple shots. For enemies with larger health pools, strategic limb shots induce stagger and contribute damage. Considered effective against long-range enemies, it has limitations in certain scenarios, emphasizing the need for tactical choices in ammo usage.
3. Shelling S49 Pistol
The Shelling S49 is versatile but requires a ton of precision to be one of the best weapons you could use. It has a moderate rate of fire, quick reload, and decent hip fire accuracy, making it suitable for mobile engagements. However, like we said, its damage requires precise shots. While boasting a higher rate of fire and larger ammo capacity, it sacrifices damage and stagger. We feel that the S49 is one of the most balanced choices, regardless of the accuracy factor.
2. Van Auken LTC 5 SMG
The LTC5 is the best SMG in the game. It has a high rate of fire, large magazine capacity, and ample ammo. It does suffer from horizontal recoil, which sort of affects range accuracy and lowers damage per shot. However, we discovered that accuracy in critical weak points helps conserve ammo. It features a reflex sight and is one of the most versatile, all-around weapon in GTFO.
1. Omneco EXP1 HEL Gun
The HEL Gun is a semi-automatic hybrid electrothermal light-gas weapon with piercing rounds and bullet penetration. Functioning as a DMR, it serves as an alternative to rifles like the TR22 Hanaway Designated Marksman Rifle or Drekker Del P1 Precision Rifle. We think it’s absolutely ridiculous when it comes to crowd control. However, it has a lower rate of fire and requires you to be incredibly precise. The HEL Gun stands out for its versatility, making it our most favored weapon.
