Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green have a long history dating back to ‘90s when they starred alongside each other on the hit sitcom, Beverly Hills, 90210. You would think seeing the former cast mates appearing together once again would be good news, right? But fans are furious with Spelling and have deemed her interaction with Green as “inappropriate” and disrespectful to his girlfriend, Sharna Burgess.
Spelling shared a bunch of photos on Instagram recently to let her 1.8 million followers see what she’s been up to. The first picture is the one that has everyone riled up, as she can be seen hugging Tom Payne (all good with that) and sitting on Austin’s lap. She shared her thoughts in the caption, writing, “Photo dump from last weekend… so much fun with friends and fans at @planetcomiconofficial . See ya’ll this weekend in Hartford Connecticut for 90’s Con @thats4ent #davidanddonnaforever #90210 #scream #scarymovie #troopbeverlyhills.”
Tori Spelling Gets Everyone Mad Because She Didn’t Sit On A Chair
What should have been a joyous moment for the cast and a great reunion for fans of Beverly Hills, 90210 instead sparked criticism for the actress. “Sitting on the lap of another women’s husband, friends or not, is inappropriate. You’re not a child, you’re an adult. There is no need to sit on a an adult friend’s lap,” an angry commenter wrote. “Do you want to explain that 1st pic Tori ???” another fan questioned.
Other reactions include, “his hand was on her a** so yea wow,” and “Yep…shameful!”
Not everyone was mad, though, and there are also comments about their characters Donna Martin and David Silver, and how they were couple goals.
We know Spelling and Austin were close on the set of their series, but do fans have a reason to feel furious with their behavior decades later? Well, they did indeed have a brief romance. However, it does not sound like it was particularly meaningful to either of them, as Spelling reflected on her MisSPELLING podcast in November 2024 that she had no recollection of how they first hooked up after a trip to Disney. She also asked Green if she could remember what happened that first time, to which he replied, “No.” If it were some beautiful love story, the moment would be better remembered, right?!
The former friends and costars also lost touch after they finished filming Beverly Hills, 90210. “I remember crying that we were going to lose touch because we were so close. It was almost like going through a divorce or something,” Spelling said, per Fox News. “I remember you said, ‘We’re always gonna be together. We’re even all gonna go on vacations together.’ And that was the last time we spoke for 18 years.”
While some fans loved seeing the stars reconnect, others think Tori Spelling should sit on a chair next time!
