Pixar has released the first clip of their next feature, Finding Dory. The one-minute clip brings us back to the ocean and back to the (now) familiar East Australian Current where Marlin, Nemo, and Dory reconnect with their Sea Turtle friends.
Pixar’s newest adventure will reunite Nemo and his father, but they’ll have to do all they can to help Dory reunite with her long lost parents:
Disney-Pixar’s “Finding Dory” reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?
More specifically, that Humpback Whale dialect!
On the way to the state-side of the ocean and towards California coast, Dory is scooped up. Marlin is once again tasked with finding a fellow fish after Dory is caught by the Marine Life/Biology Institute. While returning to a familiar formula, Finding Dory looks to be an adventure in its own right.
Andrew Stanton and the Pixar crew released a full trailer this week, giving us a glimpse below the surface of what to expect from Dory’s background and childhood story:
Of course, everyone’s favorite forgetful blue fish will be voiced by Ellen Degeneres once again. The cast is chalk full of great talent like Idris Elba, Bill Hader, Diane Keaton, Ty Burrell, Ed O’Neill, Eugene Levy, and Kate KcKinnon, just to name a few!
Pixar has had its ups and downs in the last couple of years on the big screen with movies like The Good Dinosaur, the award-winning Inside Out, and Monster’s University. The characters and story behind Finding Dory are sure to get young (and old) butts in the theatre seats when it hits local cinemas in 3D on June 17th in North America.
