Touching Sky-High Proposal in Kansas Seen Through Flight Radar, ‘It Was Really Rough But Definitely Worth It’

That’s a proposal no one will forget

It is true that, when it comes to love, we will do whatever it takes to achieve the seemingly impossible. A pilot showed that he would move mountains in Kansas—or fly through the clouds—to make his future bride happy. In a video interview, a pilot by the name of Terry Williamson decided that he was going to propose to his girlfriend of two years in one of the most unique ways possible, and he explained how it was done.

When Williamson’s girlfriend, Taylor Burcham, was working her job at a local coffee shop, she’d keep tabs on Terry. She’d follow a flight radar to follow Terry’s flight through the Kansas sky. One day, she noticed his flight pattern spelled, “Will you marry me, Taylor?” in cursive. She was shocked!

Taylor said in an interview, “I was pretty surprised. It was unexpected.” Taylor, who also loves flying, continued, “Aviation has always played an important role in our relationship.” But the proposal was not an easy stunt for Terry. And he knew he would have to put a lot of love in it to pull it off.

Terry recalled, “After the middle of the second word, I found out why they only do two words.” Many messages delivered during flight are very short due to their difficulty. And to do it in cursive? That takes some serious skill, even with the help of GPS. He then went on, “I felt like I was going to get sick…It was really rough but definitely worth it.”

It was definitely worth it, as Taylor said yes to the proposal! Though they haven’t yet picked out the date for their special day, they did say that they have plans to keep the wedding small.

They also said that they were going to have an aviation theme at their Kansas wedding since they both share a love for flight and it now plays a special role in their relationship. It just goes to show that the effort that we put into our love can certainly pay off and that there are no limitations when it comes to love.
