Donkey Kong Country features one of our favorite soundtracks, so when we heard ToxicxEternity (Jack Fliegler) had released a new remix of one of the game’s most popular tracks we had to check it out. Titled “Aquatic Shrediance”, the mix is based on the track “Aquatic Ambiance” which is featured in the underwater levels of the legendary SNES game.

ToxicxEternity has been creating covers and remixes of various video game tracks for years now, however this is his first track to be featured on the popular website OverClocked ReMix. Much of his previous work was heavily in the metal genre, however with this particular track he changed things up a bit. The music is evident not just by listening to the track, but by the below quote taken from OverClocked ReMix.
“With this track, I was looking to step out of my comfort zone a bit and calm things down using an acoustic guitar and a more ambient soundscape” – ToxicxEternity (Jack Fliegler)
The original track was composed by David Wise, who created many well-known soundtracks during his time with the developer Rare. Aquatic Ambiance has become a very popular piece among video game music enthusiasts, and it’s easy to see why. This remix of the track by ToxicxEternity honors the original while bringing a new quality to the sound. Please listen for yourself and see why this is (so far) our favorite remix of 2016.
