Travis Kelce’s fame has extended past his NFL fans since it was revealed that he’s dating global superstar Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has seen his popularity skyrocket thanks in part to Swift’s millions of fans across the world. Of course, he’s now under a more intense spotlight, making his subject to criticism. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what’s happening when it comes to his fan-favorite podcast, New Heights, which he hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
During a recent episode of the podcast, Kelce enthusiastically opened up about athletes who have walked onto teams. During the conversation, he used explicit language. Some fans took to the comments to share their thoughts about the Super Bowl champ using aggressive language, especially when it’s revealed that many younger fans watch the podcast, per OK! Magazine.
Travis Kelce Asked To Clean up His Language Amid Taylor Swift Fame
“Travis please stop using the f word so much young kids would love to listen to your podcast but some parents will not let them,” one person commented. “Why does Travis use the F word so much?” another said. “Love this podcast but wish Trav would really try to clean up his language to a little more class without the F bomb every other word,” a third person stated. “Travis, time to increase your vocabulary so you don’t have to use the F word in every sentence. You’re better then [sic] that,” wrote one viewer.
Travis Kelce’s podcast doesn’t target young viewers. However, sports fans come in all ages. In addition, the football player’s connection to Taylor Swift may also bring in a younger crowd. It should be noted that Swift uses some explicit language in her songs as well.
It seems unfair to ask Kelce to change how he behaves on his show. However, some critics are doing just that. It remains to be seen if the athlete will take any comments to heart.
