The Trials of Mana Demo is now live
In light of its up and coming April release Trials of Mana fans have been gifted with a short demo, now available to play on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The demo shows off its reworked classic anime-like animation style while easing players into fluid real-time combat, a newly compromised soundtrack, and a fully-voiced English cast.
The demo allows players to select three of six playable characters each with their own unique story, talents, and personality. A single playthrough contains a little under 2 hours of gameplay while also allowing players who purchase the full game to carry over their progress. For those that are undecided on which hero or heroine they are best suited to, Square-Enix is offering a short quiz via their website. The timed 15 question quiz forces players to answer questions in under 10 seconds and at its end offers a most likely character of choice along with the reward of a special avatar.
For those unfamiliar to the series
Trials of Mana originally released in 1995 as Seiken Densetsu and is the third title in the Mana series following the Secret of Mana and the original Mystic Quest. Trials of Mana, however, was the only title that didn’t receive an official western release in over 24 years. In June 2019, with the Nintendo Switch’s release of the Collection of Mana series, Trials of Mana made its first official debut in the west. This release stayed true to the traditional 2D graphics and iconic sprites of the 90’s offering players the nostalgia of reliving old adventures. With the upcoming remake players now get to enjoy the original storyline with the updated graphics and technology of the year 2020. For those that never got a chance to play the third chapter maybe 25 years was a long time to wait, but better late than never.
The full game Trials of Mana officially releases on April 24th but to ease the wait you can try the free demo available here.
