Celebrities can thank their lucky stars– especially the convicted ones– because it appears President Donald Trump is now also in the process of handing out full pardons to famous people. Some of the more recent convicted celebrities granted full pardons are none other than Todd and Julie Chrisley, found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion.
The announcement came from Donald Trump himself, who personally called Savannah Chrisley (Todd & Julie’s daughter) about granting a full pardon to her parents. The exchange then quickly turned into an ecstatic cheer from Savannah, whose parents are now free despite being guilty.
“It’s a great thing because your parents are going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow. I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good life,” relays Trump to Savannah Chrisley, video courtesy of teamtrump.
For a bit of background, Todd & Julie were first indicted in August 2019 and then faced trial in 2022 on charges of fraud, tax evasion, and obstruction of justice. Apparently, the couple even submitted fake documents to community banks and used the money they stole on luxury cars, expensive clothes, real estate, and travel. Afterward, they used the fraudulent loans to pay off their other loans.
Todd Chrisley then filed for bankruptcy and laundered their money using a company to mask their income from their TV show, Chrisley Knows Best. This way, the couple avoided paying $500,000 in tax. After their 2022 trial, Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie received seven years.
Ever since her parents were sentenced, Savannah Chrisley became a podcaster and influencer and even campaigned for Trump while also holding speeches stating that her parents had been persecuted maliciously by Democrats.
Which Celebrity Will Trump Pardon Next?
Seeing as Trump is now also pardoning his famous supporters, all eyes were drawn to some of the more infamous Trump supporters, both in the past and currently. Kanye West comes to mind, and while he’s not exactly convicted of anything, his best buddy, Sean “Diddy” Combs, is undergoing a lengthy trial for numerous sex and abuse-related charges.
That’s why a lot of people online are making some not-so-far-fetched guesses that if ever Diddy turned out to be guilty of the accusations against him, Donald Trump might swoop in and grant him a similar full pardon.
So far, Todd & Julie, this has been Trump’s second pardon this week, with the first one given to a convicted Virginia sheriff also guilty of fraud. So, for some people online, there could be a fair chance that Trump could pardon other guilty celebrities and authorities.
“Poor tiger king though lol,” jokes Brenda Haines
“Who would have thought? Hahahaha! As they say, birds of a feather… It makes me sick,” states JoAnn Carrano
“He will probably pardon Diddy,” suggests Cecily Napolitano
“Well… Savannah Chrisley spoke at Trump rallies so no surprise here. He takes care of his own,” says David Kenneth
