The posts appeared to suggest these migrant workers had better work ethics and technical know-how compared to the average American. The posts ultimately led to a meltdown among MAGA faithful who were more in tune with Trump’s anti-immigration policies.
Many aired their disapproval of Musk’s views regarding the approval of the H-1B visas for these high-performing skilled immigrants, slamming the tech mogul on his platform. Following his attempt to clarify that his views only applied to the 0.1 percent of immigrant tech geniuses, the billionaire proceeded to share a tweet threatening “war” on Republicans and MAGA loyalists who proved to be “hateful, unrepentant racists.” He wrote,
“The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B. Take a big step back and F*** YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on the issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.”
After defending the H-1B visa, Elon Musk shared a separate tweet declaring his willingness to fight valiantly to ensure America remains the land of Freedom and opportunity. He wrote,
“America rose to greatness over the past 150 years, because it was a meritocracy more than anywhere else on earth. I will fight to my last drop of blood to ensure that it remains that land of freedom and opportunity.”

Amid the MAGA meltdown, the president-elect, who has long championed anti-immigration laws came forward this weekend with his candid take on the subject. Speaking to the New York Post on Saturday, Donald Trump shockingly backed Elon Musk’s views on H-1B visa, in what has been considered a slap to the face of MAGA faithful.
The soon-to-be POTUS claimed he’s always liked and favored the H-1B visa, adding “That’s why we have them.” He continued,
“I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program.”
Donald Trump’s remarks backing Elon Musk’s H-1B visa notably go against his previous stance on immigration. In fact, the 78-year-old has openly criticized the H-1B visas, deeming them unfair for U.S workers who would have otherwise filled those roles, per Daily Mail. He has also made attempts to curb their use in the past. Trump famously introduced the “Hire American” policy aimed at ensuring natives stood better chances in the skilled job market by awarding the visas only to the most skilled, highest-paid applicants.
Singing a different tune years later and even admitting to using the H-1B visas in his own business dealings is an apparent betrayal of his MAGA supporters. This somehow validates the claims from conspiracy theorists that Elon Musk secretly controls Donald Trump and stands as the real power behind his incoming administration.
