There are all kinds of drunk people in this world: the overdramatic ones, the quiet and brooding ones, the angry ones, and of course, the downright annoying ones. Unfortunately for one street musician in Nashville, Tennessee, he had to deal with the last type. The incident, caught on video, shows a local busker simply trying to perform when he is interrupted by an intoxicated man who keeps repeating the phrase, “You’re playing nothing.” Over and over again, like a broken record, the man continues with the same line until it becomes almost absurd. The musician, clearly uncomfortable, asks him to step back and leave him alone so he can continue playing.
For a moment it seems like the situation might cool down. The drunk man wanders off, giving the busker a brief chance to breathe and refocus. But just as the performer begins his song again, the same man returns, this time even more disruptive. The musician, now visibly frustrated, tries to reason with him and tells him to go away.
A passerby notices the confrontation and steps in to help, but the drunk man refuses to back off. Instead, he begins hurling insults, calling the busker an idiot. Out of nowhere, he shifts topics entirely and starts rambling about Donald Trump, even claiming that Trump “stopped the war.” The conversation makes no sense, and the man’s erratic behavior only gets worse.
The video ends with the intoxicated man wandering off again, this time to bother another person nearby. It is unclear whether he was simply drunk or if he had taken something stronger, but whatever the case, his behavior was clearly unhinged.
When the clip hit the internet, reactions poured in quickly. One viewer commented, “Got dem crazy eyes. That’s a good bit more than a few drinks with friends.” Another wrote, “Trump derangement syndrome right there on display. So embarrassing.”
Soon after, users on Reddit began identifying the man as none other than Dave Ferrera, a supposed public figure. “Dave Ferrera is a published author and often appears on podcasts discussing venture capital and interventional radiology,” one user pointed out. “It’s shocking to see him acting like this. His PR team must be in crisis mode right now.”
Many could not believe that someone apparently successful and well-connected could behave in such a way. Others, however, were not surprised at all. One local commented, “Public drunkenness in Nashville’s 40- and 50-plus crowd is terrible. They’re as obnoxious as teenagers, except now there’s the added risk of breaking a hip. It’s part of the Nashville nightlife experience. Yuck.”
