The Game Awards

Where to watch

The Game Awards 2019 will stream live on a plethora of streaming platforms.

  • Twitch
  • Mixer
  • Youtube
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Steam

There will even be options to watch the event in VR, as well as additional platforms, a full list of which can be found here.

Awards and Reveals

A total of 30 awards will be given during the event, including some pretty heavily contested awards such as Content Creator of the Year, Esports Event of the year, Esports Player of the year, and the holy grail of awards Game of the Year.

The Game Awards

The contenders for Game of the Year are Control by Remedy and 505 Games, Death Stranding by Kojima Productions and SIE, Resident Evil 2 by Capcom, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by From Software and Activision, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by Sora, Bandai Namco, and Nintendo, and The Outer Worlds by Obsidian and Private Division.

On top of the exciting awards, The Game Awards 2019 will feature new trailers for games such as the Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ori and the Will of the Wisp, and Gears Tactics. As well, we will receive new information for the latest upcoming installment in the Half-Life franchise, Half-Life: Alyx. Hopefully, Valve will shed some much-needed light on the long-awaited addition to the series.

According to Geoff Keighley, ten new games/projects will be revealed at the event. Some of the reveals have already been rumored or have had small bits of information made public such as Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima and a new update or feature coming to Fortnite.

And as always, The Game Awards will feature a whole cast of celebrity appearances. Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime will be in attendance along with the current Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser.

Golden State Warrior Basketball star Steph Curry, Death Stranding and The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus, Chvrches the band, and Green Day will all be in attendance at The Game Awards. Professional gamer and streaming superstar Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who won last year’s Content Creator of the Year award, will be awarding this year’s Best Multiplayer Game. As well, Ikumi Nakamura, who stole the show at E3 2019, will also be on hand at tonight’s event, and I’m sure she will be a hit once again.

Make sure to tune in tonight to one of the biggest gaming events of the year, The Game Awards 2019.
