If you’ve yet to sample the dystopian delights of Watch Dogs: Legion and are still weighing up the merits of dropping a whole $60, then you’re in luck. Ubisoft announced today an upcoming free trial weekend.

The event, which runs from March 25 to March 29, will allow PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect players to try out not just a portion of the Watch Dogs: Legion single-player campaign, but also the newly-launched multiplayer online mode. As for specific times, the trial goes live at 4 PM UTC, 12 PM EDT, 9 AM PDT, 5 PM CET and ends at 2 PM UTC, 10 AM EDT, 7 AM PDT, 3 PM CET.

Over to Ubisoft for more on what to expect from the trial:

Check out all the open-world activities, such as playing darts at the local pub and participating in bareknuckle fights, as well as explore four of the eight boroughs including the City of London and Lambeth. Additionally, you will be able to discover the game’s storyline up to the Skye Larsen mission.”

As these things often go, the Watch Dogs: Legion free trial weekend comes with some caveats. Chiefly, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players need a valid PlayStation Plus subscription. The same goes for Xbox players and Xbox Live. An online connection is required for both platforms, too.

Watch Dogs: Legion Free Trial Weekend Pre-Loads

Pre-loading will be available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 starting March 24 at 4 PM UTC, 12 PM EDT, 9 AM PDT, 5 PM CET, and at 5 PM UTC, 1 PM EDT, 10 AM PDT, 6 PM CET on the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect. Xbox players get the short end of the stick with no pre-loading whatsoever, and downloads will only be available once the trial begins on March 25.

If, after the weekend, you fancy a purchase of Watch Dogs: Legion, rest assured that progress will carry over, both in single-player and multiplayer. Ubisoft also says that select retailers are offering some blistering discounts up to 67% off.

Will you be taking advantage of this free weekend? Let us know in the comments below.
