Ubisoft’s E3 2018 presentation just got bigger. From the official Twitter account for Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft has announced the next installment of the long-running franchise. The game will be called Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and will most likely take place in Ancient Greece. Here is the five-second teaser trailer:

Along with that very short and 300-like teaser trailer, Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be at E3 2018.

Jason Schreier of Kotaku is reporting that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be out sometime during Ubisoft’s 2019 fiscal year (fiscal year for the company ends March 31st, 2019). Schreier wrote that, according to multiple sources, “the game is indeed set in Greece, and that it’ll be even more of a drastic departure for the series than Origins.”.

Schreier later went on to say Odyssey will bring dialogue options to the series and you can either play as a new male or female protagonist.

You should definitely take these reports and rumors with a grain of salt. The Assassin’s Creed series became stale after the disastrous release of Unity in 2014 but has since bounced back with the RPG centric Origins last year. If these rumors are in fact true, Odyssey looks to be another big step away from what made people shy away from the series. We won’t know for sure until Ubisoft shows us more at their E3 conference in a few weeks.

Ubisoft’s E3 2018 briefing will take place Monday, June 11th at 4:00 PM EST. The Division 2 and Beyond Good & Evil 2 are both confirmed to be shown at that briefing.

Are you excited for another Assassin’s Creed game? Did you the direction Ubisoft took with AC: Origins? What are you hoping to see at E3? Let us know in the comments and be sure to follow us here at The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs!
