Love it or hate it, the royal drama is what keeps most obsessing over the British royal family. Yet, one fact often overlooked is that the royals bleed red too! That makes them just as human as everyone else, with feelings, familial bonds, and opinions. Speaking of opinions, that’s no doubt what left the royal fold in dire straits to begin with, as Harry gave lots of those in the Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan and in his 2023 memoir, Spare. That ultimately deepened the wedge between King Charles‘ sons Prince William and Harry.
With the Duke of Sussex looking to release the paperback edition of his best-selling book, Spare, all eyes are on the royal family, waiting to see what unfolds next. Commentator and author Emma Woolf believes a reconciliation might be on the plate, however undeserved. Speaking on GB News, a panel suggested that the infamous reunion of the Gallaghers brothers for an Oasis tour after a 15-year-long feud could inspire Prince Harry and Prince William to follow suit.
Commentator Paula London begged to differ, insisting Prince William “doesn’t need to get back with Harry” after his treatment of the royal family. She claimed that while family indeed have an obligation to be close, the only valid reason to do so in such crucial situations is for monetary gains. Paula insisted that Liam would never have reconciled with his brother Noel if there was no money to be made. In the case of the royal brothers, William stood to gain no financial benefit from Prince Harry. Hence, Paula would rather have them remain estranged.
Emma Woolfe had a more optimistic viewpoint, foreseeing a reunion between the royal brothers someday. Regardless, she deemed Prince Harry’s attack on the royal family in his book, Spare as “almost unforgivable.” Yet, Emma understood that with families, things weren’t always black and white.
Like any other parent, it would be disheartening for King Charles to watch his sons’ relationship continue to dwindle. Hence, predicting the future of this feud is near impossible. Emma divulged,
“Families fall out and it’s painful for the parents to see siblings not speaking. There’s so much more complicated stuff going on behind the scenes, I think a lot of the stuff that Harry said in Spare is almost unforgivable. But is it Unforgivable? It’s something that we can’t really know about.”
Emma remained hopeful the brothers would eventually “come back together,” and reignite the close bond they once shared. The royal brothers had a chance to reunite in February when Harry traveled to the UK to see his dad after his cancer diagnosis. Despite both sons being present in the UK at the time, no reconciliation happened. Again in May, Prince Harry visited the UK for the Invictus Games 10th anniversary event but missed yet another chance to set things right with his dad or brother. The brothers would most likely be in New York City at the same time Next month, attending their respective events. While they have no activity in common, “in an ideal world” that would be a great chance for some catching up, and perhaps, a reconciliation. As the saying goes, the third time’s the charm.
