It is finally time to see Dark Fracture, a new psychological thriller/horror from Feardemic and Twisted II Studio. These publishers are going to feature Dark Fracture at EGX October 7-10 in London. The game is not set to release this year, so hopefully, this will give us a good idea of what to expect when it does come out in 2022 with some other great titles. Let’s take a little dive into what we know so far.
Procedurally generating horror
A key feature we know is the procedural generation of paranormal events in Dark Fracture. The biggest takeaway from this is how each playthrough can be different—aspects like bodies appearing in random locations to where important items are spawned. Dark Fracture will make sure you expect the unexpected. These events will play a significant point in our next area, the Sanity Meter.
Dark Fracture makes you keep your sanity in check
During gameplay, your sanity will be the key to survival. You must do everything you can to keep it, or you might permanently be in the otherworld. How sane or insane you are will determine how harsh the procedurally generated events can be. Your sanity needs to be good to deal with most of the horror game elements. Being smart with scarce resources, finding key items, and even limited light sources can run out if you use them unwisely. It is going to push your sanity to the test every step of the way.
Do not make bad decisions, or else
Your decision will impact most of what happens in Dark Fracture. The storyline and outcome will both be direct results of your decisions, so choose wisely. Edward, the main character, will live or die by your choices, and so might some of the people you come across. This will push the player to dive deep into the characters to make what you think will be the best decisions. Get ready for a ride cause this will push the envelope of Psychological thriller/horror games.
