Urshifu Strikes Hard in Pokemon UNITE!
Urshifu has been teased as the next addition to Pokemon UNITE via an in-game notification, confirming the Legendary Pokemon will be officially playable on December 1, 2022, about six days from the time of writing this.
With the addition of Urshifu, the game roster will include 46 official Pokemon, with the most recent addition being the Dark/Ghost type Support Pokemon, Sableye.
The other mons currently available in the game include Clefable, Duraludon, Hoopa, Trevenant, Dragonite, Tsareena, Greedent, Sylveon, Mamoswine, Blastoise, Blissey, Gardevoir, Zeraora, Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax, Crustyle, Greninja, Eldegoss, Talonflame, Lucario, Venusaur, Mr. Mine, Slowbro, Absol, Machamp, Wigglytuff, Alolan Ninetails, Cramorant, Gengar, Garchomp, Cinderace, Duraludon, Azumarill, Espeon, Delphox, Glaceon, Buzzwole, Tyranitar, Mew, Dodrio, and Scizor.
Nothing is currently known about Urshifu’s moveset in Pokemon UNITE, though it is speculated that it will play an All-Rounder role with various Melee-based moves that vary between two play styles, based on whatever form it is using. Urshifu has two forms: Its Fighting/Dark-type Single Strike Style and its Fighting/Water Rapid Strike Style.
It is speculated that it will either be able to switch between these two styles or an in-game event will occur that will allow players to choose which style they’d prefer to use. In Pokemon Sword and Shield, the form Urshifu took was determined by whichever tower players choose to train its pre-evolution, Kubfu, in during the Isle of Armor DLC.
