Everyone needs that one best friend who will looks out for them. One Utah woman proved that she’s a girl’s best friend in the way she handled a man she claimed was exhibiting creepy behavior on a girl’s night out. TikTok user Tayia.d (Tayia) shared video of the encounter on social media, showcasing her friend’s bravery.
While Tayia was out on a girl’s night with Sarah and their third friend, Lindsey, a man allegedly started sneaking photos of them. They were trying to enjoy their dinner at a restaurant when Sarah noticed what he was doing. As Tayia said, “Sarah clocked it instantly and handled it before I even realized what was happening.”
In the recording, Sarah says to the man, “You’re a creep. And you’re not gonna do that again.” Sarah stands right up against the guy and points at his phone, telling him to “go to the photo” that he took of the women. She tells him to follow her out of the elevator and he follows, looking embarrassed. Sarah explains loudly, “You don’t take pictures of women. That’s creepy.”
Sarah continues to direct the man to bring up the photos of her friends as they all crowd him. She watches him delete the photo. But she knows he might get them out of his phone’s trash later, so she has him clear that, too. While he’s trying to figure out how to delete them permanently, she demands, “Why do you think that’s okay?” Cornered, he tells her it’s “not okay” and tries to apologize to them.
In the end, security arrives and asks what’s going on. Sarah explains to them that the man was taking pictures of her and her friends in the elevator. Security sees Sarah has the situation handled and leaves her to it.
People on Social Media Really Appreciated How Sarah Handled the Situation
People on TikTok were particularly enchanted by how Sarah went to great lengths to ensure those photos couldn’t be used after the fact. “Always check the recently deleted, too! Good job ma’am,” one commenter wrote. Not to mention being a stand-up friend.
“Can somebody make this woman our president?” one of the top comments on TikTok reads. Maybe a contender as Best Friend of the Year, too!
Another commenter pointed out one other stand-up character, “And I give credits to the guy that heard and went and got security!” One commenter asked, “Oh, did we all collectively just fall in love with her!?!?”
A true girl’s girl at work, and the internet obviously loves to see it. Given how people on TikTok responded, shows just how much people find this kind of behavior unacceptable.
