V Rising: How to Relocate Your Castle

Don’t forget to pack your Goth leggings and Goth makeup.

Your castle is your haven in V Rising against those pesky humans. It’s where your Goth aesthetics and sensibilities are on full display and it’s understandable if you don’t want to redo that in another location. Thankfully, V Rising has introduced a Castle relocation mechanic for its full release. So now, you can simply pack up and move– with some limitations. This is how to relocate your Castle in V Rising.

Guide to Relocating Your Castle or Base in V Rising

It doesn’t matter how big your castle is. Now, you can relocate. Previously, you had to dismantle everything and then rebuild them in another spot. That old method was inefficient. The Castle relocation in V Rising 1.0 now allows you to pick a spot and move your Castle Heart right away.

However, you would still need to place everything one by one. So you’ll still need to rebuild the whole Castle. It does help if your castle is small as you can relocate as many times as you want (depending on the difficulty settings) and even commit to a more nomadic playstyle.

Step-by-step Process

Even so, simply relocating has its intricacies and you can’t just plop your Castle at a new spot. Here are some steps you need to perform when moving your Castle or base in V Rising.

  1. Ensure that the spot you picked can actually fit your castle.
  2. Before relocating the Castle Heart, you also have to clean up the relocation site. That means trees, ruins, ores, and even animals need to be wiped out.
  3. Once the whole area is clean, open the build menu, then go to the ‘Castle’ tab, and then to ‘Foundation.’ There, you’ll find the ‘Castle Relocation Heart‘ building.
  4. Place the Castle Relocation Heart building in your relocation site, then select it and connect it to an old Castle you want to relocate.
  5. The Castle Relocation Heart will usually tell you how many buildings are required for the move. You have two options:
    • Relocate everything in the new location by placing every single building. There are required and optional buildings for the move. Prison Cells, for example, are required.
    • Or commit to the Castle relocation with the bare minimum number of required buildings and dismantle all the optional structures from the old Castle.
  6. Don’t worry if you picked the second option, most or all of the materials you spent on the old Castle will be placed in the Travel Bag. This lets you rebuild again smoothly.

Also, keep in mind that relocating Castles is also a risky move if you’re in a PvP server with other players.

Consequently, other players can attack your Castle right away and you might lose all your hard work if you’re not careful where you relocate or if you don’t plan out your move.

V Rising is available on the PC and PlayStation platforms.
