In celebration of Star Wars Day, developer ILMxLAB has announced that Vader Immortal will be coming to PlayStation VR this summer. All three episodes of the highly-acclaimed VR adventure (as well as the Lightsaber Dojos) will be available in one awesome package.
Vader Immortal takes place within the Star Wars universe and has the player adventuring deep into Vader’s fortress. Playing as a force-sensitive smuggler, you’ll “descend into Darth Vader’s mysterious fortress alongside new allies and encounter fearsome enemies, including the Sith Lord himself. Be at the center of a story in which you hold the key to the galaxy’s salvation… or destruction.”
Until now, Vader Immortal has only been available through Oculus devices, but the development team decided to bring it to PSVR in celebration of May the Fourth.
Mark Miller, the Executive Creative Producer at ILMxLAB, commented on expanding the experience:
We are very excited to be partnering with Sony to bring Vader Immortal to PlayStation VR… I never get tired of watching people react to Darth Vader approaching them, following them with his gaze and speaking directly to them. We can’t wait to share this experience with a broader audience.
The entire Vader Immortal series will release on PlayStation VR this summer. As of the time of this writing, an official release date has yet to be announced. In the meantime, Beat Saber is a great way to master your lightsaber-wielding abilities until the experience’s release!
