We’ve seen many cases of entitled customers trying to ruin the reputation of a poor company. However, there are situations where the opposite happens, and it is the company trying to stain the reputation of a customer. One of these cases occurred in Indiana, where an advertising company falsely accused their previous customer of being a sexual predator. All because the customer had a disagreement with the business and decided to part ways. It would seem that this company doesn’t know how to handle a lost client.
The Redditor whose username is Kanko07 shared the pictures of a sad incident that happened with this advertising company in Indiana. According to them, they previously hired their business to create and manage a website. Yet, it seems there were a few issues during the process, so the client decided to part ways with the company. Unfortunately, the business took this personally and escalated things quickly and in a way that could harm the customer’s reputation.
The client mentions that the company shut down the website that the client had already paid for. After that, they filed a complaint, but the business fired back by falsely claiming this person was a sexual predator and a child molester. And to make things worse, the business left 13 negative reviews on the client’s business profile, which has now damaged the victim’s reputation.
With that in mind, the Redditor decided to go online to the Legal Advice subreddit to ask for some recommendations regarding what to do, and well, it seems a lot of people are on the same page.
“This is something you can sue for, defamation/slander. Get screenshots of the texts immediately,” commented starksdawson.
Regarding the above point, the OP responded by saying they have already documented everything, from videos to conversations, and more. So, if they end up pressing charges, this will be extremely helpful.
Others advised OP regarding their business profile, as that will harm their reputation if they leave it up there for a long time.
“Contact Google directly and show them the evidence that these reviews are part of an attempted extortion. File a police report,” said leftwinglovechild.
As you can see, the situation is dire for the former customer of this heinous advertising company. While they didn’t share any names for safety reasons and due to Reddit’s policies, it would be helpful to know the name of this business so we can all avoid it. Hopefully, OP will press charges so this company shuts down and stops harassing clients.
