For 28 years, Halloween Horror Nights has been an essential part of Universal Studios Hollywood. Fans gather at the park gates each year to celebrate all things horror, and 2025 is no different. While some pay extra to jump on express lines, this year’s turnout proved that “express” is just an idea… not a reality. A recent TikTok video shows what this year’s “horrors” really look like.
“General admission lines were the scariest thing at HHN,” one TikTok user said on a video uploaded showing horrendous wait times. Fans on general admission waited almost two and a half hours, while the express line had a wait time of at least 40 minutes. Viewers were unimpressed with the park’s crowds, questioning whether the seasonal event is even worth the money.
“I’m sorry, but that is just not worth it at all. Like damn, what y’all doing waiting in line for almost two hours to walk through a house in three minutes?” Said one user. Another commented, “I’d rather just stay home and watch all the mazes on YouTube. Front row and all the snacks…”
Many HHN attendees called for the park to enforce entry limits, which would reduce wait times. “I do think social media tends to ruin things because it never got THIS bad! But also, these amusement parks need to establish an occupancy limit… If these mazes are a 2-3 minute walkthrough, there’s no reason these lines are two hours. It’s not fair for the consumer/fans to spend $100 to do MAYBE three mazes because of 2-3 hour wait times.”
Some people offered advice, like going as soon as the doors open or taking advantage of early access. However, others took a pass, citing the insanity of lines that long. “I have fully been deinfluenced for Halloween Horror Nights,” was the consensus for most.
