The Alaska State Fair is supposed to be about families enjoying the last stretch of Summer, anything but starting a brawl. But a now-viral Reddit video has shown a very different side of the fair: a chaotic quarrel that ended with a firearm being wrestled from one of the participants, while others expand on that fight after the armed man is taken down.
Shared on r/Alaska, the clip quickly made the rounds across Reddit. The video starts with a man trying to draw a gun, and a neutral person is doing their best to keep the danger at bay. From the looks of it, the armed man was fighting with another guy wearing a green hoodie, who later jumps into the scene, punching him as he’s about to be disarmed. The same person later picks a fight with another individual involved, escalating what has been an already awful scene at the Alaska Fair State in the first place.
“Can’t fight, pulls gun, still looks like a bitch,” one user wrote, with another adding, “Nobody involved in this can fight and all look like b****” I’m not a fan of sarcastic comments on serious matters of life and death. If these “b****” were free to use their weapons, then this incident could’ve gone way worse than it is.
A user said, “Big ups to the guy who stopped the idiot from shooting at people” which sums up my thoughts exactly. Drawing a pistol in public itself is one thing, and doing it where you know that families and kids usually visit is another. Both are awful, and it’s certainly nothing to be joked about.
As of writing, no official reports have detailed injuries or arrests connected to the fight, and much of the story remains a blur.
