A Dallas resident is warning others to stay vigilant after a terrifying road rage incident that allegedly escalated from rock-throwing to a gun threat near QuikTrip on Lemmon Avenue. In a Reddit post shared over the weekend, the Texas driver recounted the harrowing experience, which began shortly after exiting the gas station. “This driver was really aggressive as soon as I exited the QuikTrip when there was obviously construction traffic,” the user wrote. “He drove next to me in the left turn only lane, refusing to merge and honking.”
According to the user, the other driver then hurled a rock at the Redditor’s driver-side window before attempting to force them off the road. The confrontation continued until both cars stopped at a red light at Hall Street, where the situation took an even more alarming turn. “That’s when he got out of his car and started showing off a gun,” the poster claimed. The driver, stunned by the incident, managed to capture a photo of the suspect ducking back into his car after reportedly noticing bystanders filming and the light turning green.
A police report was filed, though the poster expressed uncertainty over whether it would lead to any charges or resolution. Still, they chose to share the encounter as a cautionary tale for other Dallas drivers. “I just want everybody to be vigilant/stay safe,” they wrote.
Online Reactions Highlight Frustration and Safety Concerns
The Reddit post quickly gained traction, drawing in dozens of comments from users who expressed outrage, concern, and frustration over the escalating violence on Dallas roads. One user bluntly summed up the scene with, “Ghettos be ghettoing,” while another emphasized the importance of being prepared: “Invest in a dashcam or a gun, it’s TX. Protect yourself.”
Others reflected on how the city has changed, with one commenter writing, “Dallas people doing Dallas things. Place is a sh-thole compared to when I was growing up. It used to be a hidden gem. I hate when I have to go to Dallas. Just my opinion, and it’s still better than most major cities.” Another simply called out the aggressor’s behavior, stating, “What a loser that person is.”
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the suspect has been identified or if an investigation is underway. No injuries were reported in the incident.
