Good health starts with proper nutrition during a person’s childhood or even teenage years, which is why a video exposing a certain Indiana school’s lunch has gone viral for the wrong reason. That’s because the lunch consisted of ham that was starting to turn yellow, cheese that looked like Play-Doh, and salad with croutons that had been around for eons. Salad hyperbole aside, the clip painted a worrying state of nutrition for school children in Indiana:
TikTok user mitskisolosfr, also known as ChuzzChoppedEats, posted the viral clip in early January 2026, and she’s presumably part of the undisclosed Indiana school in question. Initially, the TikTok user didn’t plan on doing a food review on her food review channel, but the school lunch she was served prompted a change of mind. In the video, she split open a ham sandwich and revealed that the ham was turning yellow for some reason.
Additionally, the cheese that held the sandwich together was already falling apart, and the Caesar salad was in a sorry state, with allegedly mushy croutons. The ham alone was enough of a red flag for many viewers, as the discolored meat was taken by many as an early onset of decomposition or perhaps bacterial growth; “Is that supposed to be ham?” questions one commenter.
Apparently, the TikTok user refused to disclose exactly which school it is, but she did show several other lunch options from the school, and the best or most edible among them was a sodium-packed turkey sandwich whose meat was already grey. As for who’s responsible for the food, it was free, and made by “our lunch ladies and they were sent the ingredients from whatever company the school buys from.”
People online feel sorry for the children who had to eat the food
Needless to say, any school child who didn’t bring a packed lunch would have to grit their teeth and put up with the aforementioned food that the TikTok user featured. One commenter even likened the food to something served in prison, “When they feed us like prisoners, they see us as so,” while the TikTok user herself had to reiterate that “This is not what Michelle Obama intended when she made healthy food for schools.”
Other TikTok users who ate food of supposedly similar quality chimed in on the matter, claiming “I easily lost over 50 pounds when I stopped eating school food, i used to be 230 now I range from 170-180🥲🙂.” Of course, TikToker ChuzzChoppedEats implied that the school is public, meaning whatever they put on the cafeteria table during lunchtime was more or less taken care of by the government, “This is government approved slop served to children every single day,” rants an X commenter.
“Unfortunately you are in a red state (Republican) please have your parents vote better,” explains one commenter after knowing the TikTok author was from Indiana, to which she replied, “I hate it here.” Now, despite refusing to reveal further information about the school, TikTok user ChuzzChoppedEats has promised, “I plan on posting school lunch as much as possible along with reviewing local restaurants in the NWI region” to expose the situation.
