The Oscars is arguably one of the most famous award events in the world, with many well-known names and figures attending. It’s no wonder that people are very curious to know more about what goes on behind the scenes. Recently, an influencer revealed what happens in the background after someone wins an Oscar at this influential California event.
The YouTuber, CocoMocoe, recorded herself walking through a hallway at the Oscar venue. This wasn’t just any ordinary hallway, though. The influencer explained that this section of the California venue is specifically made to allow Oscar winners some breathing room. She said that this place is called the Winner’s Walk, and in the hallway you can see the iconic red carpet. On the walls are pictures of previous Oscar winners.
She also said that the press is not allowed to enter this area of the California venue. CocoMocoe then showed a table she claimed was where Oscar winners sign their posters so they can be kept in the archives. According to the influencer, once the Oscar winner exits this section of the California venue, they then have to face the press and cameras waiting for them. She said that it was a very cool thing to learn about.
Many internet users accepted this new bit of information about the Oscars with interest. “I think it’s cool. It reminds me of the NFL draft hallway where players leave the green room, put on the new team hat, and look at themselves in the mirror before walking out to the crowd. It’s a dream come true moment and you know other winners have walked the same hallway before you, and I kind of like that there’s a little transition space for yourself,” one Redditor wrote.
Of course, not everyone shared the same sentiment. Some users were not very impressed with what the influencer revealed about the Oscar venue in California. “So it’s a hallway…” another user wrote. Another commenter added, “I dislike the Academy. I changed my view when I learned about Harvey Weinstein going on a PR blitz to push Shakespeare in Love to win Best Picture. Once that happened, I stopped caring about the award in any capacity whatsoever, Oscars So White notwithstanding.”
Another user pointed out that the Oscars have not always been held at the same location in California. “Everyone who’s ever won an Oscar walks this hall… anyone who’s ever won an Oscar stands here and signs a poster… I’ll just ignore that it hasn’t always been in the same theater,” one Redditor said.
