Governor Abigail Spanberger repealed an executive order issued by her predecessor that required Virginia law enforcement to cooperate with ICE. A video posted to X highlights a Fox News segment linking the policy shift to several violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants in the state.

The report details three killings: an illegal immigrant from Guatemala charged with killing his three‑month‑old daughter, another Guatemalan immigrant charged with fatally stabbing a man, and an illegal immigrant from Sierra Leone with more than two dozen prior arrests charged with killing a woman at a bus stop.

Spanberger is shown speaking shortly after her inauguration: “On the first day in office I repealed and pulled back from what had been my predecessor’s executive order 47, which mandated the work of Virginia state law enforcement agencies with ICE… giving personnel over to ICE is something that ends today.” Fox News contributor Paul Mauro responded, “Nobody can be surprised by this.”

Online Reactions to Spanberger’s ICE Decision

In the comments on the X post, people reacted to the video. “Elections do have consequences,” one wrote. Another person said, “Virginia got what they voted for.” A third commented, “Nobody believes she told the truth.”

Additional reactions underscored frustration and disbelief. One user warned Virginia to “remember this in the midterms”. Another asked how she gained office. Some observed the polarization in coverage, noting two completely different narratives for the same event. A fourth comment cautioned Americans to “vote or suffer the consequences.”

The video does not establish a direct link between Spanberger’s policy and the crimes mentioned. Spanberger has not signaled any changes, and online criticism continues to grow.

The discussion underscores ongoing voter concern over public safety and the impact of state enforcement policies. The conversation about consequences remains very much alive in Virginia.
